Just the Nicest Couple | Mary Kubica

Nina and Lily are both school teachers who have built a friendship. Nina and Jake are married but their marriage is beginning to get a bit rocky. Nina's mom has health issues and needs Nina's assistant more frequently which Jake is not a fan of and is vocal about it. One night after Nina and Jake get into a fight he doesn't come after work, where he is neurosurgeon and Nina thinks that Jake has left her.

Christian and Lily are married currently expecting a baby, but very new in the situation as Lily seems to miscarry all her previous pregnancies. When Christian comes home from work he see's that Lily is in distress. He soon finds out why.

Lily was out walking in the in wooded park where she is spotted with Jake. Something has gone wrong with Jake as Lily is running for life from him. Christian finds Lily's clothes soaked in blood and when he hears the encounter from Lily he decides that no one can know about what happen and starts to take measures to protect his family.

This is a fast paced thriller and an exciting read! I have a couple of Mary Kubica's books and so far have enjoyed all that she has written.
